I applied for a loan of R250 000 on my current home loan of which I only owe R380 000. My current property is worth R1 800 000. The loan would be used to buy another property. My monthly repayment on my bond is R4400 but we pay R6000 which has never been faulted. My wife has a market link account worth R160 000 and we have assets, but we can't secure the loan. I have been on an endless papertrail as my wife is self employed and I am corperate employed.
All it took was a disgruntled phone call to S.A.Home Loans and all the same documents I sent to Std Bank and now S.A.Home Loans has approved my loan and will take over my existing bond.
I want the loan to buy property not to go on holiday!!!
I feel that there is no longer a personal attitude to personal banking after all the years and interest paid, and this will result in me moving all current links with Std Bank to another banking institution.
