After almost 4 year with Absa Vehicle Finance I received a sms that I need to send through Proof of Insurance for the vehicle. I sent through the original documentation but received a response that the info is older than 6 months. I contacted my insurer and while I was waiting for the info, I received a statement from Absa Vehicle Finance suddenly indicating that an insurance premium has been added to my account without my approval.
Neither the sms nor the email response indicated that the info needs to be received within a certain time frame or that insurance will be added by Absa automatically. The information was sent through again as soon as I received it from my insurer.
This is unacceptable and needs to be removed before any deductions take place.
