Echelon Private Client Solutions (santam)
Why do we have Short Term Insurance

On the 1 December 2013, on about 01h00 the morning in Lydenburg, there was a big storm that blew over my wall and the roof structure that I was busy with on maintenance. As I was insured with Echelon Private Client Insurance, I requested a claim form from my broker and on the 3 December 2013 the claim form was send in to the broker. After numerous phone calls on the status of the claim and when the assessor would come out, the assessor only came out after more than 2 weeks. This was the start of the chaos. My broker had to follow numerous times up with the above insurance company of where we stand with the claim, with no avail. In the new year the follow up continued and up to now the claim has not been sorted. It is the 17th January 2014 and a month and a half since the claim has been presented to the insurance company. I'm under the impression that the insurance is trying to get out of there responsibility to settle the claim and I quit sure they are going to come back after I have posted this complaint going to say that on a technically basis the claim can not be paid. Why do we have insurance if it comes to claiming, they go out of there way to get out of the claim.
