I opened a savings account at absa greenstone in October 2013. My account has been actively used to deposit my salary since i opened my account. My problem started when i had to make an internet transfer into another account to pay for my visa, however my transfer did not go through because absa has blocked my account because apparently they do not have my ID or proof of residence, so my account is not Fica'd.
First of all, how did i manage to open my account last year October if i did not have the supporting documents to open my account? Surely when you go into a branch to physically open account, the first thing they ask you for are your supporting documents otherwise you cannot successfully proceed to get an account.
I now have to put in extra leave just so that i can sort out a Fica issue that shouldnt have been a problem in the first place if the person that opened my account just submitted my documents like they were originally sopposed to. Why should i be inconvinienced 2 take my documents into my branch AGAIN? Ive already done my part, so when will absa do theirs? I am extremely unhappy, and i demand feedback and the most covinient resolution to my problem.
