I have been with Nedbank GB reward programme for years, raked up over 200 000 points, I received an SMS yesterday stating thanks for redeeming points to your prepaid card. Now the important part is that I did NOT redeem any points, neither do I own a valid Nedbank prepaid card. I called the call center yesterday (13/01/2014) in the morning and the lady checked the system only to find they linked somebody else with a totally different ID number to my GB profile, so this person decides to cash out all the points onto a card which they somehow also issued to this person. How does something like this happen, shouldn't a bank like Nedbank have controls in place to avoid these types of issues. The amount redeemed was over R5000- loaded to this card and they have also been spending this money. I called Nedbank again this morning only for them to tell me it will take 24 to 48 hours for somebody at greenbacks to call me back while this person is spending my money. Nedbank needs to attend to requests like these sooner before I switch to you know which bank...!!!
