I am foreigner who went to Standard Bank wanting a loan and was given a revolving credit account, with very high interest rates, on the pretext that I could access the account on a revolving basis once I have repaid at least 15%. To my shock/horror and disappointment; I went to the Midrand/ Boulders branch wanting to access the revolving account only to be told that since I am a foreigner, I could not access the account. As I am a so called prestige banker; I approached the Sunridge branh only to be told the same story. My question is- why sell me the revolving credit account knowing that I am foreigner and cannot access it in the future?? I feel cheated/ robbed by Standard Bank. I logged a complaint with the bank and only got an acknowledgement sms. I will gladly give the bank my account and ID details.
