Standard Bank
Insurance for a sick person

My dad was medically boarded off from work in April 2012 as he suffered from a dread disease. We have claimed through 2 institutions with no hassles and the accounts were settled and he was reimbursed from the date of incident. The problem we are faced with is that Standard Bank has settled the revolving credit that he had however they still haven't reimbursed him the premiums that were made. We reported this to them in November 2012 and they were still debiting money from his account with an application for pay-out pending. The account was settled a week ago by the claims department and when we called to find out why he hasn't been reimbursed we were informed that he won't because it has different benefits like death. The insurance and the revolving credit have been cancelled as it's not necessary anymore since the debt owing has been settled. It's really upsetting that they haven't reimbursed my dad since he was paying the account even after he was boarded off. I don't accept that he has other benefits so he won't be reimbursed as he feels that he is legible for that money as Standard Bank was fully aware of the concern in November last year however they still debited.
