Mutual and Federal takes more than a month

My name is Nicholas Bodill. I am currently insured with Mutual and Federal, and had a break in on the 5th of December 2013. We registered our claim with Mutual and Federal on the 6th of December 2013. We have had an assessor come to value the break in, check for forced entry, and then took 15 days to register his report with Mutual and Federal. We were transferred from pillar to post, and were given names of everyone working on our claim. We have been waiting since then to have this finalised, and today, 8 January 2014, we have no payment, no settlement. We have been dealing with Peter Evans, Mutual and Federal inspector in East London, who came to Fort Beaufort to see about the " claim" we had put in. We have had no assistance from our broker, and have no response about the finalisation of our claim. We are phoning on a daily basis, only to be told, it has been sent to the underwriter, and then they need to contact our broker, etc. We were promised to be phoned back by Lizeka at Mutual and Federal in Port Elizabeth by 12 today. My wife has just phoned now, to be told that she has gone on lunch, and no one can assist us. I have now refferred to Ombudsman.
