ABSA - today, tomorrow but NOT together!!

I did a routine check of my ABSA Private Bank current account via internet earlier today and noticed a large amount that was transferred out of my account to an unknown account, which I had not authorised and neither did I do this transaction.
After immediately contacting ABSA's internet banking division, the feedback was simply that all that could be done is to suspend the account and an investigation will be launched with no clear date when this obvious internet will be resolved. On top of the inconvenience of my account being hacked into and suspended, i was told that its my responsibility to go to my nearest branch and obtain forms that needs to be filled in and I will have to lodge a case at the SAPS. I find the service and assistance of ABSA quite shocking in this regard as I now have to in my holiday time, go to a branch and police station and wait indefinitely until this investigation has been finalised. I do not understand how this is my problem especially thinking that your hard earned money is safe in a large bank such as ABSA.
Why must I now have to fight to get my money back that I have entrusted the bank with?
