I applied for a home loan in December 2012, on the 15 December 2012, I received a letter via better bond from fnb home loan signed by Jan Klynhans indicating the approval of the bond. I however changed my mind and did not proceed with the bond as it was a stand and decided to look for a house, I did a pre home loan application on line at First national bank, I got a pre approval letter indicating the possible amounts I could qualify for. Approximately 2 days after I received a call from an fnb consultant who wanted to more information about my application, I indicated that I wanted a home loan and she asked me whether I have my cheque account with fnb when I told her that I bank with another bank I was told that it will not be possible to proceed with my application. I later received an email from Ryan Bernice indicating that my application will not be considered as I don't bank with fnb" if I wanted to continue I had to move my cheque account to fnb, and even if I move my account over to fnb there was no guarantee that they will consider my application. What puzzles me is that fnb did not have a problem granting me a bond when better bond applied on my behalf what's diidifferent
