On the 13.10.2013 my mother inlaw, a factory worker was a victim of the ATM .her stop card was immediately put into the atm as well as she called the no. on the atm and stopped her card, the person assured her on that call that her card was stopped and that her money was safe in her account.she came home and called that no. to make sure. a few hours later she received 2 sms stating that there was 2 withdrawals made from her account of R2000 and then R50 after her account was sopped, she then followed all the necessary steps that standard bank told her to take for this matter to be investigated and they assured her that she will receive that money back within 6-8weeks, after numerous calls (up to 3 times daily) to the department were we were continuously told that Yasmin handled this case and Yasmin wil call us back within a few minutes, My mother inlaw finally got the call from Yasmin today telling her that she is so sorry that my mother inlaw was involved in this and that Standard Bank department has come to a conclusion that they will not be refunding any of that money and that standard bank has no record of the stop card as well as the first call.
