Agent Hung Up The Call

OLD MUTUAL decided that today, on the 20th of December, 5 days before Christmas that they would deduct over R1500 from my bank account. My salary date which was agreed for direct debits to be deducted is the 27th of each month!

So I go and do Christmas shopping this morning and to my dismay, there are no funds available. The R2000 which a family member transferred to my bank account to purchase Christmas Food and gifts had been deducted by Old Mutual.

I call the Old Mutual Finance Customer service and the agent tells me that I need to send them a copy of my bank statement to prove that I have not been paid as yet. As if I need to prove my salary date? Really now guys!!!

I ask her for a refund and she says she cannot process this without my bank statement. I ask to speak to a manager and after countless occasions requesting a manager, spending 25 minutes on the phone and running up a R25 bill on my cellphone account the agent hangs up the call on me.

I want a manager to call me today and I want my money refunded immediately. The Direct Debit Guarantee says that if a payment amount or date changes you will notify me 10 days in advance. You did NOT do this. I want my money NOW!!!
