I requested cancellation (ref GWH 49406) of my warranty policy on the 21 Oct 2013, because I had already disposed of my car. On cancellation, I was told of the clause that it takes 21 days to process the cancellation during which time I'll still be liable for debit order on the policy even though I no longer use/have the car.

I tried to query this as this IS not stipulated in my my policy document (dated 19th Nov 2009, policy number NSW001686). But I was arrogantly told that is how it is. But again in Nov 2013, another debit order went through, and when I queried this, I was told someone will follow it up and come back to me, but that never happened. Again, on the 19th Dec, I phoned (spoke to Lyle) and now I was told that I would not be be refunded any debit order because I had claimed from the policy prior to cancellation which I find strange because that was the reason I had taken the policy in the first place.

Also, the premium on this policy was being paid in advance, that is, its effective date was 30 days after the first successful debit order.
