I have a personal loan with Nedbank, I have since last November been retrenched and am unemployed at present. I have made arrangements with the collections department. I did unfortunately have my debit order returned on the 02/12/13 due to the lack of funds. I did have money deposited on the 04/12/13, within a few minutes of this money being deposited in the account Nedbank does a double debit of R3202.04.
My question is how did Nedbank know there was money deposited into my account, the reason for me asking is, if Nedbank did a normal run of the returned debit order would that not run over night and not when money goes through the account.
The reason for my complaint is that I am now having to fight for a refund. I was told that if i am unemployed where do i get money and need to send a motivation letter and my bank statement to request a refund.
I do understand that I owe them money but for them to refuse to give me back the double debit is not fair.
