R115 UNPAID charge

I work in the banking industry and understand all the issues with an UNPAID transaction.
My Outsurance debit order came off my account on the 2nd of December and due to one of my other policies collecting R20 too much, my account went into -R3.80 balance. On the 3rd of December a transferred R4 back into my cheque account as I didn't like my account being in the negative.

I use my cheque account as a clearing account - money goes into that account, debit orders go off that account and then the remainder of the funds are transferred to other accounts where interest is earned. Needless to say, it's not the first time my cheque account balance has been negative and never had I ever been charged an unpaid fee.

Bidvest Bank charge an unpaid fee of R3.50; Standard Bank charges R115.00 for an unpaid fee - why is that? Bidvest Bank even have the courtesy of phoning me and informing me that either I fund my account with them or then will need to process an unpaid for that transaction.

Needless to say, I'm not impressed!

PLUS, the unpaid fee caused me to be back in a negative balance which means I further needed to transfer money into my cheque account!
