Discovery Card is backed by FNB which means that Discovery Card is at the mercy of FNB's bank charges (which is a serious brand-linking mistake in my humble opinion). I did not use my Discovery Card for a month. During that month I was charged R320 for the Discovery Miles loyalty program (it pays to be loyal...) which took me over my limit. I was promptly charged R220 for going over my limit. What I cannot understand is how FNB can first of all allow me to go over my limit (that is why it is called a limit) and then charge me for something I have not authorised? This has to be one of the simplest yet most effective money making schemes I know about. So FNB... How can I help You??? This is so irritating that I am seriously thinking of transferring ALL my Discovery Policies to another company that genuinely has my interests in mind.
