Below mail was sent to [Email Removed] Email address given by Capitec's call center agent. I'm placing it here as I've received no response & am apparently unable to speak to responsible parties.
"Good day,
Query relates to an account Capitec Bank handed over for collection. As per MBD statement 12.11.2013 - outstanding balance is R15181.20.
However, there are 2 notable differences on my credit report.
The balance on my credit report is shown as R15413.00.
The credit report shows that I have not paid in over 150 days.
I discussed my concern with Janine of the Capitec Credit Collection Services (Tel: 021 941 2230).
She explained as follows:
Once handed over, I no longer pay Capitec. MBD act as collection agents.
MBD then pay Capitec on my behalf and the amount is tracked by the balance on my credit report.
It therefore stands to reason that:
The balance on my credit report cannot in anyway be more than the balance on my MBD statement.
if the balance has decreased since my payments to MBD, it is incorrect for my credit report to state that I have not made payments in over 150 days.
As this will remain on my credit report for up to 2 years, I need it fixed urgently "
