Quotes Provided a misrepresentation

I bought a new car & looking to insure it. My company insurance came out to about R1000, so went onto Hippo to get some free insurance quotes. Dial Direct came out at about R680. I was excited but when they called me, after providing the details, they gave me a quote of R980 which is about 44% more than quoted. I have existing household insurance with Dial Direct so if anything would have expected a lower quote & not one of 44% more. I explained my unhappiness to the lady at Dial Direct. She advised that Hippo merely gives one a quote. My argument was that if the quote change by a slight amount or percentage its understandable by to be more by 44% is unacceptable. That then is misrepresentation. Over & above, it wasted more than 30 minutes of my time being on the phone with the consultant. The quotes provided should be as realistic as possible & anything about 50-10% diff to what Hippo has provided... Over and above 30 mins with Dial Direct, I have wasted time on the Hippo site getting quotes. I will not use Hippo again & will advise all friends & family against using them for quotes as it is a sheer waste of ones time & very, very frustrating
