I made a manual debit transfer to settle my credit card account on 4 November. Standard Bank proceeded to nail me a R135 late payment fee. The credit card statement I received the following day indicated that the statement period was 3 Oct to 4 Nov which in my mind makes my payment on time. When I contacted them to query this I was told that even though my statement says closing on 4 Nov, actual deadline for payment is 2nd of every month. If that is the case why do they confuse people by printing incorrect dates on there statements? I'm guessing so they can claim late payment fees?

During my enquiry I also found that there exists a 1 day delay on inter-account transfers to my credit card making me, in this instance late by default... All transfers to my other accounts are instantaneous, why not my credit card?

And then there is the supposed feedback that I will get on my complaint. I logged it 5 Nov, I followed up 8 Nov, I followed up again 11 Nov and am still without a response or feedback...
