I bought my first ever second hand VW Touareg from Hatfield VW Bryanston in 2010 (after driving 3brand new ones before)
The vehicle was on 25000k and as I do high mileage asked the finance lady for an extended warranty
I was sold a warranty from SA WARRANTIES under the clear impression that my services and all engine related problems will be covered
To my utter dismay I found out after the vehicle reached a 100000k that service were not covered - only engine related problems were
So After huge confusion at the dealership I was explained to for the first time NO SERVICES covered
I accepted that and have been paying for this ever since.
Now my car needed a new prop shaft as the bearings were faulty
Once again SA WARRANTY refused to pay for an engine related problem telling my technician its wear and tear
He clearly told them that it is faulty and needed replacing
After being totally dismissive and not even sending an assessor as per usual I was forced to pay the R6931.20 to get my vehicle mobile
Please alert all your readers to NEVER EVER get an extended warranty from SA WARRANTIES as they will try utmost best to not pay!
VW now sell their own fully comprehensive extended warranty
