Credit card fee TAKEN from my cheque account

I requested an e-mail of how to close my FNB Credit card account, as I haven't used it in a couple of years, but I still pay the yearly credit card fee. I received a call from a gentleman trying to convince me to keep the account open. I politely declined, and he then offered to half my yearly credit card fee.
When I still declined, he told me they would close the account, and I would receive a letter to this effect. I explained that I was planning to go into a branch, to settle the outstanding card fee, and hand back my card. He said it wasn't necessary, as he reversed the card fee for this year, as I did not use the card. I looked at my cheque account today, and an amount of R294 was TAKEN from my account, without my consent.
