I used Absa internet banking to buy airtime with my Rewards on 14 May 2013
I received the sms voucher code but when I entered it I was told it is invalid. I called the ABSA rewards help line on 15 May and was told that they were aware of a technical glitch and it will be sorted out within a few days. I was told to try the code again until it works. That is what I did and kept on getting the code invalid message. I called ABSA again on 31 May and was given a ref # 1111337. I was told that my query will be escalated but it may take some time to sort out
Nothing happened for a month so I called again on 9 Jul. I gave my ref number and was told that another dept was investigating and that I will either have the airtime voucher with a valid code or the ABSA rewards paid back by 16 Jul. Nothing happened on the 16th. Tired of wasting money on phone calls I decided to e-mail customer services with a complaint on 18 Jul. Customer Services e-mailed back telling me I have to take the matter up with Absa rewards. Back to square one! I called again on 28 Aug and was told that the matter will be resolved soon. 5 mths 3 weeks since I bought the airtime I have nothing to show besides aggravation!
