I paid up my account in 2011 and closed account. A while later i started receiving statements with balance on the account. After numerous calls to absa telling the acct was closed, i still received statements. Eventually, the balance was transfered to my account, despite warning the consultants that i would not be held liable if they were at fault. This year a get a call, "you owe us", luckliy we reached an amicable settlement. A month later i receive statement with a balance on the account. According to Absa the account is closed on their systems but i have statement 06 Aug 2013 - 04 Sep 2013 balance - R2209.66. account 4463 4900 0264 5039.
