I had a problem with the debits on my absa cheque account, when the consultants told me that they can't help me i must sort myself out i decided to shift to std bank without closing my cheque account. I got a call from absa after 6or7 months telling me that i owe them R5800 for all the debits that bounced on my account on top of that absa had already put me as bad payer at ITC. I was very surprised Bukele the figure but i paid it anyway because i wanted to buy a car. No papers were given to me as a proof of all those change. I couldn't get credit even though i had closed the account. If why the account was never discontinued and how it accumulated so much interest in such a short time is still a mystery to me. I'll appreciate sum answers from absa, this happened between June 2008 and January 2009 if my memory serves me right. At that point i was not thinking straight because i just had a new job and was under pressure to buy a vehicle.
