I applied for an FNB private client credit account by error online. The next day i request that they cancel the account having noticed they already transfered my outstanding Platinum credit card amount to the new private client account. They refused to reverse the transfer claiming that i must first settle the outstanding amount before they can close the new private client account. I settled all the outstanding credit card amount that was reflecting on my credit card account. I notify the bank, then they request that i write a signed instruction letter for account closure which i did and faxed through. In the process of this account closure FNB continue to attempt sending me the new private client credit card via the courier company which i refused to collect, twice. 3 days after i have settled the account, FNB sends me an email that i have an outstanding amount on the new credit card which i must pay R250.89 before they can finally close the account. I contacted private clients department and they confirmed there is nothing outstanding on my credit card account. FNB is forcing this private client credit account down my throat, coming up with excuses daily of not closing it.
