Due to unforeseen circumstances, I got retrenched and had no income, I fell into dept, I did however got employed, and managed to arrange to settle my dept with ABSA and close the account. The month after I payed the outstanding fees and closed the account, ABSA listed me with the credit buro as BAD credit with a status that will remain for two years. Like I said the listing was done after I settled my account. I now have to pay ITC almost R2k to have the default listing investigated and possibly removed. I am not happy with this and think that because ABSA made the error, they should remove the listing and pay all fees that applies to the process. I also did not receive any notification in writing as required by the NCA: " The NCA stipulates that the creditor should notify the consumer "in writing" and give them 20 days to respond to the notice before placing a listing with the credit bureau"
Will ABSA sort out their error?
