Unwilling to help recoup funds

I am an FNB client and on 22 September 2013 I accidentally eft R2450 into an incorrect Capitec account. On the 23rd, I went to FNB to ask them if I could have the transaction reversed they said it's all depends on the other bank.
A few days later I got a response stating the reversal was unsuccessful due to insufficient funds.
The R2450 I sent was not withdrawn by the account holder, it was taken by Capitec to pay for bank charges and other things.
I find it appalling that Capitec denied the reversal request because they benefited from it.
R2450 might not be much to them, but to me, as an unemployed person it makes a huge difference.
