Compensating for Standard Banks incompetence

My 32 day notice deposit was to be released on a specific daty, after waiting a week none of the funds were released and I contacted Standard Bank and was told the branch which had now closed down had not authorised the release. I was then told nothing could be done as I had all the signed documentation with no records on their system. The only option I had was to prove to Standard Bank that this money was signed to be released. I am yet to see how Standard Banks incompetence is my problem and 15 days later my money is still not released!
