Standard Bank Insurance sent a service Provider (Rainbow Plumbers) to install a new geyser in 2009. The geyser leaked on 28th august 2013. They sent same service provider to fix the leak. The plumbers alleged that they replaced a vacuum breaker. After their service hot water pipe leaked clearly showing that it was tampered. Standard Bank Insurance refused to fix claiming that plumber were not working on the pipe a PVC pipe has been connected to the geyser. They further claimed that according to their standards a PVC pipe is not supposed to be connected on the geyser. My old geyser did not have a PVC pipe and the pipe was connected by their service provider. After persuasion they sent a second plumber (Andrews plumbers) for inspection. Andrews Plumbers alluded to the fact that the pipe has been tampered. On receiving the second report their complaints manager (Isaac) changed the explanation. He claimed that they can not fix the pipe because the pipe is 1 metre from geyser. I sent them pictures showing that the pipe is actually connected to the geyser. I have a record of more than 10 calls whre the manger promises to call back and hardly does so.
