On the 20/08/2013 I sold a car and advised my insurance broker, Telecomprehensive insurance, that the vehicle had been sold and should be removed from my policy.
At the same time I purchased another vehicle, but as it would be used for business purposes it needed to be on a separate policy, with a different bank debit order.
At the month end, the original policy debit order was processed without deducting the premium for the vehicle that had been sold, plus a debit order on the other bank account was processed for the new vehicle.
On about the 2/09/2013 I received the policy document for the new vehicle, insured for business but with this clause
"VEHICLE SECTION - BUSINESS USE GOODS EXCLUSION
Any loss of or damage to the insured vehicle or as result of the insured vehicle will be excluded from the cover afforded under this policy if the insured vehicle is used to carry goods of any kind for business or professional purposes
This effectively made the policy useless.
Numerous requests to either change the policy wording or cancel the policy were ignored, as were requests for a refund of the amount overcharged.
Numerous emails from myself and my broker to Suraksha had ZERO result
