Accounts still not closed after 2 years!!

Closed my ABSA accounts (credit card) almost 2 years ago. Now ABSA phones me and tells me that I owe them R1127.57 of bank fees on my credit card which has already been handed over to there legal department and now my credit checks does not comply as I want to buy new house. I even went into a ABSA branch when I closed my accounts to settle the amounts outstanding and get all the balances to ZERO (R0.00). Now because of some not doing there job I have to pay there bank fees which added up to R1127.57 over the years as they handed it over to legal. Not a word from ABSA in the past year to notify me about this or to enquire what the problem is. I cut my credit card into pieces the day I closed the account so NO transactions has taken place as verified by the consultant over the phone. How can I then be responsible for these outstanding fees owed to ABSA? I paid this full outstanding amount today (17 Sept 2013) but demand a full refund from ABSA as their negligence & stupidity is not my problem. Now I also need a letter to state that my name has been cleared and my accounts closed! This needs to be done ASAP!! This is the exact reason why I left ABSA and went to Standard Bank.
