We tried to open the much advertised U-account with all the discounts today.
What an eye opener. Don't think you can just go and open the account, oh no! You have to qualify for stage 4 to receive all the discounts as mentioned in the adds.
We don't even qualify for stage 1 as we don't have any accounts at Standard bank, although we are trying for the U-account.
All customers of other banks who thought of supporting or doing business with Standard bank, think again!
In contradiction to the massive add campaign this bank is running, this is only available to current Standard bank customers.
