I have been with Miway for past 5 years of which I claimed once amt of R15k (taxi drove into me - 2012). I have never defaulted on my premiums & abused my claims.
I have now received a letter informing that my R0 excess will be increased to R3 300.00 the reason for the increase is because of the weakening Rand.
I queried with them & received a mail advising me that nothing can be done - I have to except in the increase.
Now the issue for me that if you are adding an excess surely you should be decreasing my premiums and if you decrease my excess you should increase my premiums.
I am no guru on insurance but my understanding is that how it works.
To this means that Miway no longer my business/premiums and that I should consider exploring other insurance companies.
