Once again I find myself on hello Peter compaining about Nedbank. I am horrified at the service or lack there of. I have finally moved to FNB, and am trying my best to break links with this ridiculous bank. I recently went into Nedbank Hyde park to close my cheque account after I got rude messages that I was overdrawn. I said to myself ok, well I haven't used the account in long and naturally a cheque account would accumulate charges. I phone the call centre in order to place some kind of stop on the account so that I would not rack up any more fees and they CANNOT do this because I OWE them money. I then went into the hyde park branch to close the account, I paid up the outstanding balance and requested the account be closed. ONLY TO GET A RUDE MESSAGE TODAY TELLING ME I OWE MORE MONEY! Again I call the incompetent call centre to find out what this is about now. The consultant tells me I owe Nedbank R5! because I paid cash when I closed my account! they still charged me a cash transaction fee FOR CLOSING MY ACCOUNT! The account is still open and nedbank again will not close it because i OWE THEM. I will now remove my savings funds from nedbank too. Worst bank ever.
