Pension Fund

I need to understand, my pension fund is with ABSA, I have worked for more than 30 years and according to our pension, we are allowed to borrow from your pension fund for renovation of the house. I recently applied to borrow money from my pension fund at ABSA, I waited for 3 weeks without anyone giving feedback, I provided everything that was needed. After the forth week, I called ABSA and I was told my application was rejected due to affordability. I have a loan with them and I wanted to add to the loan and now I cannot afford my own money that I have worked for 30 years for it.

Please make me understand, Im very confused and I would rather have my pension fund with people I can trust not ABSA Bank.
