I bank with Standard bank and have a cheque account in my personal name. I run a medium sized business and always frequent the bank to do deposits, mainly cash, and at times big amounts... until recently I used to use the business queue if the normal queue was too busy without any hassle and also as a safety measure as the business section has a cubicle were no one can see what transactions your busy with. Up until 3 months ago they have a new rule, that is only if you have a business account then you are allowed in the business queue. So were are we as business people supposed to stand? In the normal queue which moves at a snails pace and what about depositing large sums of cash, at times I have 40 to 50k on me. What about the safety factor? Many armed robberies take place because watch you at the bank then follow u. Now i cannot stand in the cubicle in the business section but have to go to a normal teller in full view of everyone standing around in the banking hall. Cant they have a dedicated teller for deposits inside a cubicle and is this policy being practiced at all standard banks or only Ladysmith. None of the other banks follow this strange practice. please advice.
