Absa
Follow-ups are non-existent

The point of using your credit card in online transactions is the safety therein so that when goods are NOT delivered, you can file a chargeback. These particular transactions involved a seller with PayPal: R 21, 274.93 on 24th June 2013 & R 8, 224.29 on 29th June 2013. The issue was reported to PayPal but the case was closed as I was advised to take the matter up with my credit card. This is wherein the National Credit Act (2005) gets flouted by ABSA. A standard response is received from the person involved at the disputes email (as there is NO number to call directly nor allowed) indicating that I need to provide proof from PayPal. Without a reference number, PROOF therein is emailed to the disputes email and NO movement is made so far. You can't engage with the Disputes department, nor can they TRACK a dispute of a charge NOR can they REVERSE charges with the efficiency of the 21st century that occurs these days. This jeopardizes my client rights to protection from and further delays my ability to transact with my long standing account. Yet billing for monthly fees & interest is executed with pin point timing. Get this issue FIXED without the need for the NCR!
