I was looking at switching to ABSA. Incredible, I was told I cannot open an account with them because there is an old cheque account in recovery. This account was closed and settled approximately 5/6 years ago!
How long do you want to hold it against me? Things change, people change, circumstances change? Then I get told like it's a favor my case will be presented to head office that I will manage my account on a credit basis! What a joke!
Amazing how a bank, that's loosing clients on daily basis, and then advertise all these wonderful products can turn away potential new clients based on old history without even looking at new circumstances and current facts!
All I can say is good luck! I'm not usually like this bu really, I hope you loose all your clients!
