A few months ago my bank card was swallowed at the ATM, I went to the Fourways branch to get a new card. After standing in a a long queue to only be told that they couldn't just issue me a new card that their IT dept. needed 72 business hours to resolve the problem. This was extremely frustrating as you now have no access t funds, however you are at the mercy of the bank and therefore left with no choice. I went back to the bank and was then told they had to move my entire account and all my beneficiaries etc in order to reactivate my account. Being so desperate to get my bank card I sat in the bank for over an hour whilst everything was reloaded.

As a standard I have my cheque account, credit card and homeloan all linked so I can transfer payments as and when required. After my card was finally issued I was advised that they had a problem linking my homeloan and that they would ensure it was done. This was never done, and to date I'm still battling to access my own funds after numerous calls to the Standard Bank Homeloans dept and being told constantly that it will be resolved within 48 hours. It is so frustrating I cannot access my own funds! :(
