9 years ago I bought a house in Robertsham JHB through Standard bank. I had to take the compulsory home owners insurance as I owed on my bond. My house was insured and I paid faithfully for 9 years with small claims here are there, 3 or 4 in the 9 years. Last year we had a massive heal storm in the South of JHB and my one room's roof gave way with the weight of the hail. I submitted a claim, the assessor came for assessment and after a few months I was informed that the claim was repudiated due to the pitch of the roof that was wrong. I tried my upmost to convince Standard bank insurance that they insured my house with the existing roof with the same pitch as when I bought the house with. I must have made more than ten calls and get the same promise each time I phone. "My collage will phone you back as this is unacceptable the way you are treated". The rain is on the way and nothing has been done about my claim.
