I am buying a house through Absa Home loans (my second one). From day one I was messed around with regards to the terms and conditions of the deal. I told ABSA right from the start that I want to use attorneys that I have a relationship with (they have been on ABSA's panel for over 30 years). Out of the blue I get this letter from another attorney saying that they will handle my Bond registration. I then found out from ABSA that they have decided that the attorneys doing your bond transfer cannot be the same guys that does your Bond registration. I contacted ABSA and told them that I want to use the attorney of my choice, because I am getting a 50% discount on the transaction (it comes to R 9000.00). They then told me that I must either follow their rules or take my business somewhere else.
To Mr. Dawid Malan (some big shot ABSA lawyer) and Carel Gronum (Head of ABSAHome loans) I want to say the following: THANKS FOR HELPING ME LOSE R9000. I have been your client since I have been 13years old, and you treat me like this? I am sure that I am only a drop in ABSA's ocean, but if you read the Beeld more and more people like me are taking our drops to other banks. You guys!
