Fleet Street Publications
Unwanted marketing and charging for it

I was contacted by a sales person, trying to sell me a tax watch product. I did not want it but he insisted and I was very busy and instead of putting the phone down while he was talking, and because he promised that it is a free trial for a month, I gave him my details. He told me that I could after a month just call to tell them that I do not want to be subscribed. At the end of the month I received an account. I also received a file. I called Fleet Street publications, and told them that I do not want to be subscribed to their product. They noted such, but did not tell me I have to send back the file before they would "credit my account". I continued to receive statements, now with the standard statements of what could happen to me if I do not pay. On calling them today, I was told that my account could not be "rectified" unless I send back the file, which I did not order! the Lady also said that if I do not send it back, my account will be handed over to attorneys, to whom I can explain the fact that I do not want to send back the file! I sent the file back today in the hope that I will not be blacklisted for an account that I did not open.
