I cannot believe that FNB can treat its customers like this. I gave notice to fnb insurance brokers for a short term policy in writing as advised by one of their agents. Today I was called back by Neo Mashike who tried to convince me not to cancel. When I did not budge, he then told me that FNB policies are deducted in arrears, so if I terminate the policy as at the end of July, they would still make a deduction at the end of the month! What NONSENSE! Then he tried to compel me to commit that I had said that the policy is cancelled as at 1 July meaning that I was not covered as of today until the end of the month. I refused but he sent a cancellation of the policy with immediate effect. The irony is that in that document, it is clearly written under the clause PREMIUM PAYMENT that premiums are paid in ADVANCE meaning that I have paid until the end of July. I still cannot believe this treatment. I am glad that I cancelled before some big accident happened. It is clear that I would have been given all kinds of excuses come claim time. People beware!
