Dear Absa Home Loans Manager.,
I have been a ABSA home loan client for the past 21 years. I have purchased two properties through ABSA during the 21 year period.
We are elderly people who decided to sell our huge house and I called ABSA call centre in April 2013 to advise the lady that we are selling our house and that we hereby wish to inform ABSA.
The ABSA call centre consultant advised me that everything is in order and that the settlement amount will be R140 000.
To my surprise I received the final amounts from the conveyancing attorneys that ABSA provided them with"
Settlement amount: R146 329.24
Bond Cancellation R1924.00
The above amounts was paid to ABSA on 16 July 2013.
I went to the Brackenfell branch of ABSA and the ABSA representative advised me to take this matter further as even according to her ABSA did not do all that they could of done for us. I think her comment says it all-ABSA took us for a ride-an EXPENSIVE RIDE!!!
Where is my settlement discount when you anyway charged a cancellation fee as well?
And dont give me the 3 month notice excuse- Ive done that as well.
I am digusted!
