Went to Standard Bank in Montana Pta on 2013-07-13 to get a letter from them stating that Im a client of them and that I have an account with Standard Bank. I was surprised when I was told that the bank would charge me R8-00 for the letter (one never used to pay for such a letter in the past) Seeing that I have 3 accounts with them, I was absolutely dumb strucked when I was told that I would be charged R8-00 for each account. Apparently the bank can't put all 3 accounts on one letter stating that I'm the account holder, it has to be 3 different letters!!! Can someone please tell me why the Standard Bank charges R8-00 for such a letter, it's not about the R8-00, it's about the principal. Who knows, maybe one needs special training to be able to print out such a letter, or they use special gold plated paper to print the letter on. Needless to say, what is the R8-00 for? It's not as if other Standard Bank services are for free and are we not paying an annual fee anyway? Sies!!!
