I just had the KAKKEST experience at the Pine Crest, Pinetown branch. I sent through an Internet application yesterday and sure enough, a few hours later a consultant called to confirm my details. I was waiting for him to tell me exactly how much I was to pay to open the account, but he didn't say anything. He told me I had to go into the branch with my ID and proof of address to pick up my card.
So, today I went. I was standing in a queue for half an hour to get to ONE consultant on duty. I waited another TWENTY minutes for her to process my documents. Then she tells me I have to pay in R100 before I can get the card. The teller queue was long, and the queue behind me was even longer. I wasn't about to spend that much money to open a simple savings account when another bank offers me one at a tenth of the price. My company banks with FNB and I wanted to have one so my own banking could be easier. The people behind me were getting impatient and I was at the end of my rope. FNB just wasted two hours of my F valuable time by misinforming me. I'm going to encourage my boss to take our banking to a different branch as she has been experiencing HUGE problems with you as well.
