One-sided Freezing of account without notice

Without notice ABSA froze my daughter's account in May, while she was in Cape Town. Apparently her account did not show FICA details. When the account was opened a few years ago, we had to comply with FICA system. With a lot of persuasion on my side her account was made active so that she could get access to her money. Remember she is in Cape Town with her ID and I have the residential service accounts here in Mpumalanga. While I was sorting this out, I made sure that the two youngest children's account was also 'FICA' d. This happened in May 2013.
Today I was phoned and threatened that my youngest son's (and all other) accounts will be frozen because we need to FICA with the new system!! The person phoning from Ermelo, could not even tell me who will be affected. (My phone is connected to more than one entity.) Now I have to travel to the nearest town, fall in their endless queues for a second time in less than 3 months to comply with the next wimp of ABSA. I do have business accounts with other banks where this has never happened. I am so glad that the daughter in Cape Town moved her account to another bank, because I do not know when or if I will have access to my OWN money
