Educing of credit limit without notice

Hi,
i have a credit card with absa bank and i ran into a bit of financial trouble since june 2012. i have made arrangement with absa to catch up with the arrears and to start using the card again. I spoke to someone from their credit management department on the 27 May 2013 and we agreed that i would pay the amount of 896 to get the card up to date. I then asked him if could pay more into the card then use the available to which he suggested that would best and it will aid in building my credit record. On the 25/06 i paid the amount of 2500 to account and received a statement dated the 27th June confirming that my available is 2136. i used of the available credit to the amount of 444 and i Saturday i checked my balance to find out that i have a R3.00 credit. i called the cc to find out what happened to the available credit. The consultant told me that absa bank has the right to decrease your credit limit without informing you and there is nothing they can do about it. i checked the contract which was revised in 2011 and it states that they have to notify via email or sms the credit limit will be reduced. the limit according to the consultant was reduced on the 26. so i lost R1679.
