The Insured asked us to create a report for him to advice him if this vehicle was repairable or not. We created a report that indicated that it would be in his best interest and that of the Insurer to write the vehicle off. This was caused by the repair cost that had exceeded the write off margin.
Dispute a very balanced report showing that the vehicle is a write off the Insurer went ahead and repaired the vehicle. Post repairs the vehicle presented with numeral mechanical, electrical and body defect.
The Insured asked us to debate these issues with the Insurer and we did and requested the Insurer to provide us with the final costing so that we could decide if the Insurer could rectify the defect on the vehicle or not.
When we studied the final costing we discovered that the costing didn't make any financial or mathematical sense as it appeared as though the financials were manipulated to suite the repair instead of the write off. Basically this was a forced repair of a write off.
We then asked the Insurer to explain the irregularities on the costing the Insurer could not instead the Insurer sent their assessor Andre that asked us for a listing of the defects on the vehicle.
