Today, 24/06/2013 my husband and I went to Middelburg mall Capitec Branch to try and change a debit order date. My husband's salary is paid into his bank account at ABSA only on the 25th of each month and every month the Capitec debit order goes through on the 24th, like this morning at approximately 7 'o clock.
We just wanted to move the date with one or two days and the lady told us to get bank statements from our bank before they could help us. I replied that this is a problem because we have to pay a lot of bank charges for not having sufficient funds available every month for the debit order and why can they not change it on the system and why do they need bank statements? I mean, really, they do have all of our information on their system. She just replied "No" we must get a statement from our bank because they can not change the date of the debit order ON WHAT WE TELL THEM, they need to see the date of the salary payment. For What do I ask??? The purpose of a debit order is to ensure your accounts get paid on time without hassle but now this one is becoming a nightmare. I have never had this problem with any other bank or business who really wanted their money on time.
